The core team at International Maritime Consultants comprises:

Rob Williams - Managing Director
Rob has been involved in the marine industry for more than 37 years since completing an apprenticeship as a shipwright at the State Dockyard in Newcastle in 1969. He then spent 3 years as a Junior Deck Officer on board Australian-flagged tankers and bulk carriers, before joining Carrington Slipways in Newcastle, NSW. After 10 years, Rob left Carrington's as Assistant Manager of the design office, to join Ocean Shipyards in Fremantle as Shipyard Manager.

Rob moved into consulting in 1985 and relocated to Singapore to join Conan Wu and Associates as a Director and Design Manager. At CWA Rob was involved in the design and construction of numerous small tankers, product carriers and cargo vessels. After four years he returned to Australia and continued consulting, forming IMC in 1993.

Rob has extensive experience in designing, building and converting small and medium sized vessels, vessel operations, project management and supervision, project feasibility studies, and project documentation.

Justin McPherson - Director, Naval Architect
Justin joined International Maritime Consultants in 2000 after completing a Master's degree in Maritime Engineering Science at the University of Southampton. Prior to this Justin had worked for eight years as a Mechanical Engineer in the oil and gas industry, both in Australia and overseas. He completed his Engineering degree (Mechanical) at the University of Western Australia in 1990. Prior to studying Justin spent a year working on a trawler working in Australia's Northern Prawn Fishery.

Justin has wide experience in the oil and gas industry and utilises this experience in projects involving our clients from the offshore sector. He has also been heavily involved in the design and construction of two 24.3 meter long line fishing vessels since joining the company.

Peter Bavich - Director, Engineering Manager
Peter has been at IMC since 1994 and has completed a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering since that time. Peter has been involved in all of the recent projects that IMC has undertaken. He has extensive experience in 3-Dimensional modeling of piping and other engine room systems. Peter has managed the entire detail design process for a recently built 47-metre Purse Seine Vessel.

Vicki McBeth - Office Manager

In addition IMC employs three to four design draftsmen who are fully conversant with our main drafting tool, Autocad 2000i. They all have experience in the full range of projects that IMC undertakes.

For larger projects IMC can call on the experience of an affiliated Singapore-based Naval Architecture consultancy with extensive experience in large ship design and offshore engineering. Our affiliate employs a team of around 15 engineers and draftsmen.
